Day 5 of Holiday Privacy: Be Critical of Social Media Deals
The holiday season is an expensive time of year for many. It’s no wonder that, when we shop online, we’re hoping to find the best possible deals to lighten the strain. Many of these deals present themselves to us through social media. Platforms like Facebook and Instagram even have shopping features built in, touting astounding prices from any business that can pay for sponsored ads. Unfortunately, if some of these deals seem a little too good to be true (especially if they come from a business you’ve never heard of before), there’s a decent chance that they’re scams. Every time you come across a social media sale that you want to take part in, think critically about it first, and do some research to figure out if it’s legitimate, or just a trick to part you from your money.
