Some ecommerce stores take customer security more seriously than others. Ensure you’re shopping with the safest sites by checking for SSL secured sites. SSL security is a form of online encryption. It makes sure the connection between you and the website you are visiting is hidden from prying eyes. SSL security protects your login information and your credit card numbers every time you make a payment. You can check if a website uses this type of security by taking a look at the URL. If it’s green, has a lock next to it, or starts with HTTPS (instead of just HTTP), then it’s encrypted and safe for you to visit.
